You’re Invited to Kitchen Commons Harvest Celebration 2020!
Saturday, September 26th, 10 - 11:30am
Join us for a virtual celebration of Kitchen Commons in the past, present, and future. We will reflect on all that we have accomplished through the years (11/7/20 will mark the 10th anniversary of the founding event!), share updates from our productive if unusual summer, and envision what could be next. Whether you were part of the early years of the Kitchen Commons story, have been involved more recently, or are curious what it’s meant and could mean to foster community kitchens, leaders, and projects that bring people together to share food, resources, and relationships, we would love for you to join us.
At its core, Kitchen Commons uses food as a tool for connecting communities, so if you’d like, you’re invited to come prepared with a recipe that’s meaningful to you. This can be from a book or from memory, super simple or more involved, something you make all the time or that you’ve been wanting to try. At the beginning of the event, everyone will have the opportunity to briefly share about their recipe and the story of why they selected it. We will compile all of your wonderful recipes into an ‘Instant Cookbook’ that we’ll send out to attendees so we can remember the sense of community and togetherness we can create around cooking and food.
